The renowned automaker's confidential information, including client documents, contracts, financial data, and more, has been compromised. This breach is attributed to the Play Ransomware Group, which has claimed responsibility for the attack. While only a portion of the stolen data has been made public so far, the threat of a full data dump looms large, raising serious concerns about the security and confidentiality of sensitive information.

The Play Ransomware Group's Tactics

The Play Ransomware Group is notorious for its modus operandi, typically employing ransomware attacks to infiltrate organizations' networks and subsequently encrypt their data. This allows the group to hold the compromised data hostage and demand a ransom from the affected company in exchange for its release. However, in this case, the group has taken a different approach by opting to leak the data to the public.

The Leaked Data

As of now, only a compressed 5GB portion of the stolen BMW France data has been made available to the public. The leaked information is said to contain private and personal confidential data, including client documents, contracts, financial records, and potentially more sensitive material. The Play Ransomware Group has threatened to release the full dump unless there is a timely response from BMW France.

Anti Public Combolist Leaked December 2016 – Free Download

In December 2016, a huge list of email address and password pairs appeared in a “combo list” referred to as “Anti Public”. The list contained 458 million unique email addresses, many with multiple different passwords hacked from various online systems. The list was broadly circulated and used for”credential stuffing”, that is attackers employ it in an attempt to identify other online systems where the account owner had reused their password.
