Does Fenbendazole Cure Cancer?

Fenbendazole is a medication used to treat parasites (roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and some tapeworms) in animals. It has also been reported to slow down cancer growth in cell cultures and animals, leading some to claim that fenbendazole cures cancer. There is no evidence from randomized clinical trials that fenbendazole cures anyone’s cancer, however.

Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, can also kill cancer cells by binding to b-tubulin and inhibiting the function of microtubules. But fentanyl is a much more potent medication and can cause dangerous side effects.

A Facebook post, titled “Joe Tippens Cancer Protocol,” has gained popularity among some cancer patients and their supporters. The post claims that fenbendazole kills cancer cells by forcing them into dormancy or sleep until they are ready to “wake back up.” There is no evidence fenbendazole can do this in humans.

The post also claims fenbendazole prevents recurrent cancer by killing cancer cells that are in the process of dividing. This claim is also false. Cancer cells are capable of multiplying even when they are being exposed to chemotherapy or radiation.fenbendazole cures cancer
